Support ICL

Every day at Institute for Community Living (ICL), we create accessible and attainable possibilities for people who would otherwise live on the margins of society. We empower people with serious mental illness and developmental disabilities, the homeless and veterans. With innovative treatment and pioneering rehabilitation programs, ICL has created a variety of doorways for these individuals to re-enter the mainstream of “normal” life.

Through the provision of services to 8,000 people a year in over a 100 programs, ICL keeps moving the line of what is possible for people with significant behavioral challenges and disabilities. Our staff opens doors to the best possible future for people with severe disabilities and situational crises, enabling them to re-engage with their families, friends and the community.

While government supports most of our programs, ICL relies on foundation grants and donations to sustain its most forward-thinking work.  Private grants and contributions allow us to pilot new services, evaluate what works and why, offer concrete help with life necessities, and provide critical opportunities for individual growth.

We are changing lives, but there is so much more we can do.  Help us strengthen New York City communities and reclaim the lives of New Yorkers who, with our help, have the potential for so much more.
